The Ford pickup lineup has been undergoing a pretty sizeable overhaul as of late. Starting with the 2015 model year, the Dearborn automaker has been transitioning first its half-ton, and then its larger options to new fully-boxed steel frames and aluminum alloy. The results? Tougher, more efficient trucks. The same can also be said of the upcoming 2017 Raptor.
The Raptor has been in the pipeline for quite a while, as Ford has tested it to make sure all reported figures are accurate. Unfortunately, this information embargo has kept us from learning the numbers we were the most excited about: the power numbers. Now, those have been leaked. The 2017 Raptor will offer 450 horsepower and 510 lb-ft of torque from its meaty 3.5-liter twin-turbocharged V6, as well as 8,000 lbs of towing. Tack on the truck’s terrain management system, and you have a capable and fun recipe for beast mode.
