What if we told you that road rage was caused by having shoddy headlights?

You would probably call us out immediately, because you know road rage happens during the day! Even so, there may be evidence that having weak, and warm-colored headlights effects your mood while you drive.

A 2008 study published in the Journal of Psychiatric Research found that people exposed to bright light had more agreeable and less quarrelsome social interactions. Mood was at its worst during the winter, when natural sunlight was scarce.

According to Ford optics expert Arun Kumar, the new Crystal Diamond Light debuting on the Ford F-150, Ford Fusion, and Ford GT glows at 5,600 Kelvin -- the same as bright sunlight.

"The efficiency of this lighting not only helps to stabilize the psyche, but also has the potential to affect global environmental savings," Kumar goes on to explain. The bluish LED headlights use less energy to produce the same amount of light as a traditional halogen lamp.
